How We Predict Your JEE Mains Rank from Percentile
The Basic Formula
We use a simple formula to estimate your rank based on your percentile:
Rank = ((100 - Percentile) / 100) * Total_Candidates + 1
Total Candidates
We assume a total of 1,380,000 candidates based on previous year's data.
Category-Specific Calculations
Depending on your category, we adjust the calculation:
- General: We only calculate the overall rank
- OBC: We calculate both overall rank and category rank (using 525,362 candidates)
- SC: We calculate both overall rank and category rank (using 132,167 candidates)
- ST: We calculate both overall rank and category rank (using 46,805 candidates)
- EWS: We calculate both overall rank and category rank (using 149,767 candidates)
Rounding
The final rank is rounded to the nearest whole number.
Important Notes
- This is an estimation based on previous data and may not be 100% accurate.
- The actual number of candidates may vary each year.
- For very high percentiles, the prediction may be less precise due to the density of candidates at the top.
